ABOUT ME
My name is Christos Sarafelntin and I am a sports massage therapist. After finishing school I trained as a nurse and started my working career as a combat medic in the Greek naval forces. After some years spent in the armed forces I retired due to some injuries and have had to find a new profession. In 2009 I re-trained at the Athens School of Natural and Alternative Medicine (Greece) and pursued a new career in massage therapy – in specific remedial and sports massage. Both my old and my new career drive from my deep passion to help people. Nowadays this is in terms of making people thrive in their chosen sport or to just give them a moment to relax and unwind from life. I treat variety of problems from sports injuries to general muscle tightness and headaches. Having had had to come back from several injuries myself has given me perspective to understand how challenging it can be when you desire to get back into physical activity but are being held back by problems in your body. I am always keen to learn new things and to update myself. I try and attend some professional seminars each year to become better at what I do and to widen my ability to help clients. When I am not working I enjoy a range of sporting activities including climbing, cycling, and rowing but my main passion is long distance (ultra) running and I can be often found training up and down the Thames path in and around London.

I've now had two sport massages (one 30 minutes, one 90 minutes) with Christos - I'd really recommend him for anyone who has some tension post workout or, like me, if you have some ongoing problems (shoulder, lower back and hip flexor). Christos is extremely professional and really makes sure that the level of pressure is suitable for you. He is very good as explaining what he is doing, and ensuring you feel comfortable. My muscles feel a lot more relaxed and loosened after the massages. I will certainly be making further appointments to continue to on my issue areas, but also as a great way to help my muscles recover post-workout. Also, really good value for money!

CANCELLATIONS
Cancellation policy:
Please give at least 24 hours notice if you need to change or cancel your booking.
If an appointment is not attended, or if it is cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment time, then a 50% charge of the appointment fee applies.
This fee must be settled before any further bookings can be made.

Privacy policy:
We will treat all personal data provided to us with care and in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
We may collect and process the following personal data about you in the context of providing massage therapy services.
Your name and contact details (phone number/email address/postal address) for the purpose of billing/receipts/invoices and in order to contact you about the provision of our services including scheduling or cancelling appointments;
Certain health data set forth on a 'consultation sheet'. Such personal data is collected in order to assist in assessing appropriate treatment and identifying health issues that may be relevant to your treatment. All health data given to us via the consultation sheet will be strictly limited for reference in relation to your treatment at ChristosMassage. All data will be kept in a secure location with restricted access. Any electronic data derived from the consultation sheet, such as name and email address, used for accountancy and client contact register purposes, will be held, encrypted, on a cloud server. Without your explicit consent the data will not be used for any other purpose than as listed above and data is not shared with any third parties unless it is required to be disclosed in order to comply with a legal obligation or for insurance reasons. All personal data other than personal data required to be held for accountancy purposes or to comply with a legal obligation will be deleted/destroyed two years after your last visit.
We would like to remind you of certain rights you have in respect of your personal data. You have a right to access the information which we hold about you. You have the right to amend, update, erase or restrict the use of your personal data. If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please let us know and we will respond. Finally if you have previously provided your consent to our use of your personal data and you wish to withdraw such consent, please contact us. We may need to discuss with you whether our use of your data needs to continue in order for us to comply with a legal obligation or for accountancy purposes.
